Elder2Care (“Elder2Care,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects the privacy of individuals who visit, access, or use the Elder2Care website, applications, digital platforms, tools, resources, and related services, collectively referred to as the “Services.”

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, how we may use and disclose that information, how we protect it, how long we may retain it, and the rights and choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy forms part of and is incorporated into the Elder2Care Terms of Service.

We collect information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.

Elder2Care may allow caregivers, family members, authorized representatives, or other users to provide information concerning another individual.

If you provide information about another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate authority or consent to provide that information where required by law.

Where appropriate, Elder2Care may take reasonable steps to verify authority or obtain consent directly from the individual concerned.

Certain Elder2Care Services may use location or geographic information to help users identify resources available in their area.

Depending on the features you use, location information may be obtained from information you provide, your IP address, your device, or location services that you authorize.

Location information may be used to:

• Identify nearby community resources.

• Provide location relevant navigation services.

• Improve the relevance of resource recommendations.

3. Progressive Healthy Aging Services and Future Data Use

Elder2Care is intended to evolve progressively as a technology enabled healthy aging platform.

The Services may develop from responding to immediate care and support needs toward proactive planning and coordination, and eventually toward predictive and personalized healthy aging capabilities.

As the Services evolve, Elder2Care may collect and process additional categories of information that are reasonably necessary to provide such capabilities, subject to applicable law, appropriate notice, and consent where required.

Depending on the Services available at a particular time, these information sources may include:

• Information provided directly by individuals.

• Information provided by authorized caregivers or family members.

• Care and support preferences.

• Accessibility and mobility information.

• Community participation and social connection information.

• Information concerning service needs and service utilization.

• Geographic and community level information.

• Information from publicly available datasets.

• Information obtained from participating organizations or service providers where authorized.

• Information from connected devices or technologies where a user expressly enables such functionality.

• Health, wellbeing, functional, cognitive, mood, or other assessment information where a particular Elder2Care service is designed to collect such information and appropriate legal requirements are satisfied.

• Other information reasonably necessary for future healthy aging capabilities.

The purpose of collecting and processing such information may include:

• Improving care navigation.

• Identifying potential support needs earlier.

• Supporting proactive healthy aging planning.

• Personalizing community and support recommendations.

• Identifying patterns that may assist users and authorized caregivers in planning for changing needs.

• Developing predictive or risk identification capabilities where legally permitted and appropriately validated.

• Improving community level understanding of healthy aging needs.

• Developing, testing, and improving future Elder2Care services.

• Supporting research, analytics, planning, and innovation using appropriately governed information.

Elder2Care will not represent that a particular future capability is available unless that capability is actually offered as part of the Services.

Where a new feature requires the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information for a materially different purpose or involves a new category of sensitive information, Elder2Care will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required by applicable law.

4. Sharing Your Information

Elder2Care may disclose information in the following circumstances.

With Your Direction or Consent

We may share information when you request us to do so or otherwise provide appropriate consent.

For example, if you request assistance identifying or connecting with a community service provider, information reasonably necessary to facilitate that request may be shared with the relevant organization.

With Care and Community Service Providers

Where appropriate and authorized, Elder2Care may share information with organizations or providers involved in delivering or facilitating services requested by you.

These may include community organizations, home care organizations, transportation providers, pharmacies, housing organizations, healthcare organizations, nonprofit organizations, government programs, retirement communities, and other service providers.

The information shared will depend upon the particular service and the purpose for which it is being provided.

With Service Providers

We may use third party companies and professionals that provide services on our behalf, including hosting, information technology, security, analytics, communications, payment processing, customer support, professional services, and other business functions.

These providers may access information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform their services, subject to appropriate contractual or legal obligations where applicable.

Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

However, no electronic system, network, storage system, or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and should notify Elder2Care promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Elder2Care retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide the Services, maintain appropriate business and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet other legitimate purposes permitted by law.

Retention periods may vary depending upon the type of information and the reason it was collected.

Elder2Care will consider and respond to requests in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Information stored in backup systems may remain for a limited period before being securely deleted or overwritten.

10. Cross Border Processing and Service Providers

Elder2Care may use service providers located in Canada or other jurisdictions.

As a result, personal information may be processed, stored, or accessed outside the province or country in which you reside, subject to applicable privacy laws and appropriate safeguards.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional information concerning cross border transfers or obtain appropriate consent.

The Services may contain links to websites, applications, platforms, or services operated by third parties.

Elder2Care is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.

Once you leave the Elder2Care Services, the privacy practices of the third party will be governed by that third party’s privacy policy and applicable terms.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Elder2Care may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Services, technology, legal requirements, and our information practices evolve.

When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date.

Your continued use of the Services after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy to the extent permitted by law.
